Grumpy's Outdoor Electronics - The Story!

Ben "Grumpy" Grumbles started a boat rigging business in the spring of 2021, working out of a high volume marina in central Ohio. The name "Grumpy's" is a nod to his Grandpa and his nickname... Grumpy Grumbles. It came about due to a constant smirk/smile. Ben's Grandpa was his personal hero. Grumpy Grumbles was a Veteran of World War 2 and fought at Pearl Harbor, engaged the enemy later throughout the Pacific, and went on to fight in the Korean War.  He retired after helping build the first guided missiles in White Sands, NM.

Ben followed in his footsteps serving in the US Army and later working in the defense sector before starting his business.What started with rigging evolved into repair of marine electronics after Ben's fishing partner broke the screen on his 8616 and could not find a place to repair it. In early 2025, we launched our our own line of "big screens" .... the X'pand monitors. We are currently working to expand to other sectors of the outdoor space.  

Our goal has always been the same: offer exceptional products and customer service to help everyday folks enjoy their time on the water!  We appreciate every customer who trusts us to help them with their marine electronics.
